C-Category
Instructor Ratings
About us: We’re based in beautiful Kaikoura, flying close to 2000 hours each year; a mixture of instructional flights, scenic/whale watching flights and private charter. With three full time pilots and a mixture of light aircraft, the club offers a solid opportunity to progress into hour-building GA flying.
Background: Kaikoura Aero Club likes to mentor two CPL-A pilots through their C-CAT ratings each year. We aim to have one C-CAT under supervision on staff at a time.
It's important to us that pilots complete their C-CAT ratings and successful candidates will need to be able to pay C-CAT fees upfront; student loans will not be available and we are not able to sponsor overseas pilots.
Must haves: New Zealand Residency, current NZ Commercial Pilot Licence, current Class 1 medical, excellent flight test results and solid references from your previous instructors/employers.
Helpful to have: Excellent time management skills, stacks of self motivation, great customer service skills and tidy, professional self-presentation. Second language can be useful.
Contact details: Murray Hamilton, Operations Manager.
Work/study hours and CCAT fees can be discussed once we reach interview stage; minimum one hour flight review with senior instructor likely to be required prior to acceptance into C-CAT (along the lines of a CPL-A BFR).
