View the largest toothed whale in the world from the comfort of an aircraft. Our flights take you over the Kaikoura sea canyon which is situated just off shore in Goose Bay, at a depth ranging from 1000m to 3000m. This canyon is the habitat of squid, groper and ling and the abundance of sea life that draws the Sperm whales to the Kaikoura region.

"Flying over Sperm Whales and Dusky Dolphins is a once in a lifetime experience!"

######### ######### You can get great camera shots of the whale from nose to tail while it prepares for its next dive, and then watch as it begins its dive to the depths of the canyon with a dramatic view of the tail. Average dive times are generally 40 to 45 minutes, time on the surface is about 10 to 15 minutes. On occasions other species of whales such as Humpbacks and (if you are lucky) the Blue Whale can be seen in the Kaikoura waters.

Large pods of Dusky and Hectors dolphins are also commonly seen feeding and playing along the Kaikoura coast.
